The twin buildings at Expo Milan 2015 are the result of Topcolor Dream printing ability, together with Mactac polymeric materials and Durst large format technology. If you visited Expo Milan 2015, or simply drove on the motorway just nearby, you must have seen them. The two buildings are cubical, one beside the other, they are 18 m high and stick out for their brilliant shaded colours. The pink one houses the Auditorium, a hall with 1.500 seats. The blue one houses the conference and workshop centre. Both have been decorated by Topcolor Dream. “In this case the design has been provided by the customers. We studied the project workability, we chose the materials, we produced the large format printings and finally we provided the installation on site”, says Luca Rossi, Topcolor Dream’s executive director. Both buildings, that will remain after Expo, have been decorated on all four facades (excluding the roof) by printing 9.000 sqm material, by coating and trimming almost 500 bands, each one 18 meters high. The whole production has been completed in a very short time: a total of 12 days, working 20 hours per day. The Expo Milan 2015 show gave a great visibility to all companies involved in the project, so much that the twin buildings’ decoration has been submitted to Mactac Creative Award 2015 competition.
